With Hardship Comes Ease
I edited this long-form documentary for the organization Project Taqwa, an islamic mental health organization looking to de-stigmatize the conversation around mental well being for muslims. The subject of the documentary is a man named Arman, a muslim who took his own life. The video follows testimony from his mother, along with commentary from community leaders and mental health experts. This video has been presented in mosques, universities and conventions, and I am very proud to have contributed to its making.
UIUC MSA
This was a video created for the UIUC Muslim student association’s beginning of the year dinner, their largest event with over 200 attendees. After a few weeks of filming both candid moments from the Muslim community on campus, and studio-style interviews with the MSA leadership, I and co-contributor Ismail Mohammed both edited for 24 hours straight to complete the film before the event, and we are immensely proud of the wholesome vibe we were able to create with the video.
